Het resultaat is een nieuwe versie van de pod, die qua uiterlijk vergelijkbaar is met de vorige Omnipod. Maar vooral de afstandsbediening, de zogeheten \u2018Personal Diabetes Manager\u2019 heeft een grote verandering ondergaan.<\/p>\n<p>Het nieuwe apparaat ziet eruit als een smartphone, heeft touchscreen en is dan ook bedoeld om de basis te leggen voor toekomstige innovatie bij Insulet. De pod, het gedeelte van de Omnipod dat op het lichaam wordt geplaatst, is ook vernieuwd. De besturing en de pod samen zorgen voor een draadloos systeem waarmee tot 72 uur insuline wordt toegediend.<\/p>\n<p>De Omnipod DASH moet flexibel, makkelijk en discreet in gebruik zijn. \u2018Onze focus ligt op zelfzorg en keuzevrijheid.
